What is Terra Adventures?

Terra Adventures provides fully supported off-road motorcycle and SSV buggy adventures across Europe and Africa.
You can take your own motorcycle on selected events, with support covering areas such as transport, customs paperwork, event preparation, navigation training, mechanical backup and on-event assistance. Alternatively, you can take part in selected adventures using our race-prepared Can-Am SSV Buggy, with an arrive-and-drive package including training, preparation, navigation, route planning and event support.

Can I take my own motorcycle?

Yes. The motorcycle side of Terra Adventures is specifically designed to help you experience major off-road events using your own motorcycle.
Taking your bike overseas can involve far more organisation than the riding itself, which is why support can include motorcycle transport, customs paperwork, event preparation and on-event backup. You get to enjoy the satisfaction of completing the adventure on your own machine without having to organise every practical detail alone.

Will you deal with customs paperwork?

Yes. Terra Adventures can handle the relevant customs paperwork associated with transporting motorcycles to and from supported events.
Crossing borders with vehicles can be one of the less exciting parts of an international adventure, so this is one of the areas where having an experienced team around you can make the process much easier.

Do you provide off-road and navigation training?

Training forms an important part of preparing for many of the adventures.
For motorcycle participants, support can include navigation training and event preparation. For Can-Am participants, packages can include event training, preparation, navigation training and route planning. The exact preparation required will depend on the event, your previous experience and how you choose to take part.

What is the Can-Am SSV Buggy experience?

The Can-Am option gives you the opportunity to drive and navigate Terra Adventures' race-prepared SSV Buggy on selected events.
It is designed as a full arrive-and-drive experience, removing the need for you to buy, build and prepare your own specialist rally vehicle. Depending on your package, support can include:
Can-Am SSV use
Event training
Event preparation
Navigation training
Route planning
Full on-event support
It is a very different way to experience a major off-road event and can be ideal if you want the challenge of rally-style adventure without spending long days on a motorcycle.

Can two people take part in the Can-Am?

The guide prices supplied for the Can-Am experiences are based on two people and include buggy hire.
The SSV experience gives you the opportunity to share the adventure as driver and navigator, making it a particularly memorable challenge for two people to take on together. Speak to the team about the arrangements for the event you are considering.

Why aren't all of the packages a fixed price?

Because not everyone needs exactly the same thing.
One rider may already have extensive off-road experience and mainly need help with motorcycle transport and event backup. Another may need more preparation and navigation training.
A Can-Am participant will have different requirements again. Terra Adventures therefore works from a core package and then discusses your individual needs rather than forcing every participant into exactly the same arrangement. This tailored approach was identified as an important part of how the business will operate.

What is included in the cost?

What is included will depend on your chosen event and agreed package.
For motorcycle adventures, Terra Adventures services can include:
Motorcycle transport
Customs paperwork
Event preparation
Navigation training
Event service backup
Emergency repairs
On-event support
For the Can-Am, support can include:
Buggy hire
Arrive-and-drive experience
Event training
Event preparation
Navigation training
Route planning
Full event support
Some tour information also states that hotels, meals and drinks are included within the event package. We will confirm the exact inclusions with you before you commit.

Who is behind Terra Adventures?

Terra Adventures was created by Tony Day following his own experiences taking part in major off-road events.
Tony first joined Nev Styles in pursuing Nev's ambition to follow the original Paris-Dakar route, taking part in The Real Way to Dakar in 2023. The experience had such an impact that the team completed further events and returned to North Africa again in 2025.
Tony is now joined by his sons Harvey and Will, Nev as special adviser, mechanics Kieran and Andy, and a wider team of dedicated adventurers. The business has grown from people who actually wanted to do these events themselves and now want to help you experience them too.

Do you only work with customers from the UK?

No. Terra Adventures is already speaking with potential participants from across Europe, including Denmark, Holland, Belgium and Spain.
If you live outside the UK, include your country of residence when you contact us so that the team can consider any additional practical arrangements involved.

Which off-road tours do you offer?

Our current tour programme includes:
Albania Raid – a seven-day adventure through remote mountains, forests and spectacular scenery.
Illyria Raid – a seven-day multi-country adventure through Eastern Europe.
Via Egnatia Raid – an eight-day journey following the route of the ancient Via Egnatia towards Istanbul.
The Real Way to Dakar – a 14-day extreme off-road adventure through Morocco, Mauritania and Senegal, following parts of the original Paris-Dakar Rally route.
Availability and the type of support offered can vary between events, so contact us to discuss the adventure that interests you.

Do you transport my motorcycle to the event?

Motorcycle transport to and from supported events is one of the services Terra Adventures can provide.
This can remove a major part of the planning involved in an international event and allow you to concentrate on preparing yourself and your bike for the adventure ahead. The exact arrangements will depend on the event and your individual package.

How much off-road riding experience do I need?

You do not necessarily need years of off-road experience before speaking to Terra Adventures.
The motorcycle experiences are aimed at riders ranging from those with limited experience through to highly experienced adventure and enduro riders. What matters is being realistic about your current ability and choosing an adventure that is suitable for you. If you are a beginner, Terra Adventures can also discuss training through a partner off-road academy, helping you develop your skills before considering a more demanding overseas event. The best approach is to tell us what riding you have done before. We can then talk through the most sensible next step.

What happens if my motorcycle develops a problem during the event?

Terra Adventures can provide on-event service backup and emergency repair support for motorcycle participants.
Off-road riding can be demanding on machinery, and problems can happen even with good preparation. Having experienced mechanical support around you means you are not automatically left to deal with those problems alone. The aim is to give you the best opportunity to keep your adventure moving.

Do I need previous experience to drive the Can-Am?

The Can-Am experience is intended to appeal to a broad range of adventurous people, from newcomers through to experienced off-road drivers and enduro riders.
You will need the right preparation for the event you choose, which is why training and an initial discussion about your experience are important. Rather than trying to decide for yourself whether you are experienced enough, speak to the Terra Adventures team. We can discuss where you are starting from and what preparation may be needed.

How much does a Terra Adventures trip cost?

Every Terra Adventures package can be tailored around your requirements, so the final cost will depend on your chosen event, whether you are taking part by motorcycle or Can-Am, and the support you need.
Current guide prices include:

Albania Raid

Motorcycle – from £4,500
Can-Am Buggy – from £19,500 for two people, including buggy hire

The Real Way to Dakar

Motorcycle – from £7,500
Can-Am Buggy – from £34,000 for two people, including buggy hire
Please contact us for current pricing for the Illyria Raid and Via Egnatia Raid.

Is The Real Way to Dakar suitable for beginners?

The Real Way to Dakar is positioned as Terra Adventures' ultimate extreme off-road adventure, so it should not be viewed as a simple introductory trip.
That does not mean you should rule it out if it is your long-term goal. One of the ideas behind Terra Adventures is that your journey can begin with developing your skills, progressing through suitable events and building towards a bigger challenge. If Dakar is the dream, talk to us about where you are now. We can help you understand what the route towards it might look like.

Is this a normal guided motorcycle holiday?

No.
Terra Adventures is aimed at people looking for something more challenging and memorable than a conventional motorcycle holiday. These experiences involve remote destinations, off-road terrain, navigation, changing conditions and the personal satisfaction of taking on a genuine challenge.
You still benefit from support around you, but that support is not there to remove every difficult moment. Those moments are part of the adventure.

What happens after I make an enquiry?

Start by telling us a little about yourself.
We will ask for information such as:
The adventure you are interested in
Whether you prefer the motorcycle or Can-Am option
Your level of off-road experience
Your country of residence
Your contact details
The aim is not to pressure you into booking.
It allows the Terra Adventures team to understand what you are looking for before discussing the most suitable event, preparation and support options with you.

Still Have a Question?

A major off-road adventure is a big decision, and it is completely normal to have questions before deciding whether it is right for you. Tell us what you are thinking about, where you would like to go and what experience you already have. You will be speaking to people who have taken part in these adventures themselves and understand what it takes to make them happen.
